Filipino pop star No Rome has collaborated with international hitmakers The 1975 and Charli XCX in his newly released single, “Spinning”.
Produced by No Rome with The 1975’s band members Matthew Healy and George Daniel, the upbeat anthem officially dropped on March 4, 2021.
London-based Filipino singer-songwriter Rome Gomez, also known as No Rome, first announced that he was working together with British acts 1975 and Charli XCX in February.
“ok some news – me, (the creator of music) charli xcx & the 1975 have a song together. . got the masters done and waiting on video edit cuts . coming out sooner than u think ok thats all for now i love u,” No Rome wrote.
Charli XCX later tweeted her excitement at “forming a supergroup with No Rome and The 1975”.
Japanese artist Hideyuki Tanaka and designer Samuel Burgess-Johnson also collaborated with the trio to create colorful animated characters based on each artist.
The artworks will be auctioned on the NFT platform Foundation to benefit charities Right Start, Girls Make Beats, and One Tree Planted.
Prior to “Spinning”, No Rome collaborated with Dirty Hit labelmate Filipino-British singer-songwriter Beabadoobee and indie-rock artist Jay Som for the track “Hurry Home” released last year.
