Young Filipino artist Worth Lodriga, the Little Picasso of the Philippines, has bagged another award this time placing in the Top 10 of the Frogs Are Green international art competition held in New Jersey, U.S.A.
After receiving his second 7-Star Artist Award from the Junior Picasso Art Contest in early February this year, the 9-year-old young painter emerged in the top 10 of the annual U.S. competition.
In Worth Lodriga’s Facebook page, the young artist posted a photo of his winning artwork titled “Rainforest.”
“Rainforests are the Earth’s oldest living ecosystems. They are so amazing and beautiful. These incredible places cover only 6 %of the Earth’s surface but yet they contain MORE THAN 1/2 of the world’s plant and animal species! A Rainforest can be described as a tall, dense jungle” went Lordriga’s caption of his artwork.
Rainforest in oil pastels was completed on December 22, 2018 and was entered in the Frogs Are Green competition themed “Save the life of the rainforest.”
This is the third time that the Philippine representative won the competition.
Lodriga won 2nd place in 2015, 1st place in 2016 and honorable mention in 2018.
With 2,700 artwork entries from different US states and from more than 35 countries, Worth Lodriga’s win under 7-9 age group category is such an achievement.
In his Facebook page, Worth Lodriga thanked “everyone for the continuous love and support” and dedicated his “huge win for our beloved Philippines.”
Worth Lodriga also encourages everyone to “Let’s continue to discover and inspire the world through art.”
