Vogue is bringing Filipino talent to world fashion acclaim in the long-awaited Philippine iteration of the iconic fashion magazine.
Vogue Philippines is finally here after its launch was first announced in early 2022.
The launch was held during the Philippine edition’s first-ever gala at the Grand Ballroom of Shangri-la The Fort on August 29.
Celebrities, creatives, and industry leaders were present with their renditions of the classic black-and-white theme, while everything onsite – from linens, placemats, and tablecloths to centerpieces and meals – celebrated Filipino identity.
Editor-in-Chief Bea Valdes introduced the historic maiden issue as an adventure.
“An adventure is the only way I can honestly describe the crafting of a maiden issue,” Valdes said.

The maiden issue of Vogue Philippines is the regaining of the Philippines’ archipelagic roots and a celebration of Filipino talent. Filipino-American model Chloe Magno photographed by Sharif Hamza, a British Filipino-Egyptian photographer, graces the magazine cover.

The location of shoots in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao perfectly showcase the Filipinos’ relationship with the sea. The global debut of Vogue Philippines featured a boulder river in Tanay, Rizal, a Rock Formation in Biri, Northern Samar, and a bangka exploration in Bucas Grande, Surigao Del Norte.
The cover story of the September issue of the Philippine edition of Vogue is a voyage back to Filipinos’ roots as islanders, voyagers, and seafarers.

Vogue UK was the first to appreciate the ‘Stunning First Issue’ of Vogue Philippines. A gallery article gave a sneak peek that showcases the Filipino talent and elements of the new magazine.
It revealed that the first issue featured sections on emerging Filipino designers and regenerative fashion. It also includes editorials like glazed skin and “The Shape of Now”, which shows modern interpretations of the Filipino terno.

Vogue has long been appreciating the Philippines, referring to El Nido as Pristine Paradise Escape and declaring “How Filipino Food Is Becoming the Next Great American Cuisine.”
This historic debut of Vogue Philippines puts the Filipino fashion industry in its much-deserved place in the fashion world. For years and years, Filipino creativity and artistry have been world-recognized but Vogue Philippines is another avenue to celebrate Filipino talent.
