The poet mishears his wife when she asks to have the rice cooker unplugged. “Hugot” ensues.

“Alaala ng Sinaing” is a dalít, traditional Filipino poetry with 4 lines and 8 syllables each line.

The author is the writer and animator for TulaToonz, and a member of the poet organization Linangan sa Imahen, Retorika at Anyo (LIRA).

“Pa, pakihugot nga nu’ng rice cooker!” sabi ni Misis. Nagkamali ng dinig ang nagmamakatà kaya heto, isa na namang hugot ang naganap. Ang “Alaala ng Sinaing” ay isang dalit, katutubong tulang Filipino na may 4 na taludtod at 8 pantig bawat taludtod. Si Edelio, and sumulat nito, ang admin ng Tulatoonz at manunulat na kasapi ng LIRA, organisasyon ng mga manunulat sa wikang Filipino.

He grew up in Baler, Aurora, and currently lives in Metro Manila with his family and cats.
