Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series Returns to El Nido for Thrilling 2025 Season Opener

The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series is making a spectacular return to the Philippines, bringing the world’s top cliff divers to El Nido, Palawan, from April 11 to 13, 2025. This marks the second time the country will host the season’s opening event, following its debut in 2019.

Set against the breathtaking limestone cliffs and crystal-clear waters of El Nido, the competition will showcase 24 elite athletes performing gravity-defying dives from extreme heights—27 meters for men and 21 meters for women. These high-speed plunges reach up to 85 km/h before the divers make their precision entry into the water below.

World’s Best Divers Compete in the Philippines

The men’s division features standout athletes, including Great Britain’s Aidan Heslop, Italy’s Andrea Barnaba, Spain’s Carlos Gimeno, Romania’s Constantin Popovici, USA’s James Lichtenstein, Ukraine’s Oleksiy Prygorov, and Mexico’s Sergio Guzman and Yolotl Martinez.

The women’s division is equally fierce, with competitors such as Italy’s Elisa Cosetti, Netherlands’ Ginni van Katwijk, USA’s Kaylea Arnett and Meili Carpenter, Canada’s Molly Carlson and Simone Leathead, Ukraine’s Nelli Chukanivska, and Australia’s Rhiannan Iffland.

Global Tour Kicks Off in the Philippines

The El Nido event marks the beginning of the 2025 Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series, which will continue to challenge athletes in stunning locations worldwide. After the Philippines, the series will move to Polignano a Mare, Italy (June 28-29), Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina (September 5-6), and Boston, USA (September 19-20). At the end of the season, champions in both categories will be awarded the prestigious King Kahekili trophy.
