The Philippines has won the title of Best Dive Destination in Asia Pacific at the Travel Weekly Asia (TWA) Readers’ Choice Awards 2023, adding to the country’s accolades for its rich marine life.
The ceremony on October 3, 2023, was held at Conrad Centennial in Singapore. Hosted by Northstar Travel Group, the annual awards highlight excellence in the travel industry, including hotels, resorts, airlines, and more. Winners and finalists are featured in Travel Weekly Asia publications.
Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles, COO of the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, said, “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Travel Weekly Asia and its readers for this honor and recognizing the allure of our 7,641 islands. This accolade underscores our commitment to preserving and showcasing the exceptional natural wonders that our country is blessed with.”
Micaela B. Ochoa, TPB Acting Head for ASEAN and the Pacific Division, and Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez, Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General at the Embassy of the Philippines in Singapore, were present at the ceremony.

The Philippines has earned multiple diving accolades, including World’s Leading Dive Destination and Asia’s Leading Dive Destination at the World Travel Awards 2023. It was also named Best Dive Destination at expos in Malaysia and Taiwan earlier this year.
