The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) has opened the main arrival curbside at Terminal 1 to all private vehicles, offering greater convenience for travelers and their loved ones. The once-restricted area is now accessible to all passengers, not just VIPs, as part of New NAIA Infra Corp.’s (NNIC) efforts to enhance passenger comfort and improve traffic flow.
The reconfigured pickup system simplifies the arrival experience by designating 14 loading bays as follows:
- Bays A1 to A10: All Private Vehicles
- Bays A8 and A9: Persons with disabilities (PWDs)
- Bays A11 and A12: VIP pickups
- Bays A13 and A14: Hotel pickups
Terminal Transfer shuttle buses will also operate from the area, with stops beyond Bay A14.
The outer curbside (B1 to B6) now features a Meet and Greet Area, Grab ride-hailing booths, and additional pickup zones.
Rent-a-car services, coupon taxis, and yellow metered taxis have been relocated to Bays C1 to C6 arrival extension area on the ground level to further decongest the main terminal curbside.
Here’s the NAIA announcement:
Directional signs and airport personnel are available to guide passengers and drivers to the right zones. The system is in its soft launch phase, allowing adjustments for a seamless experience before full implementation.
“The new system aims to ease congestion while making pickups more inclusive for everyone,” NNIC announced.
NNIC, led by San Miguel Corp., encourages travelers to follow the updated pickup arrangements for a smoother, more efficient arrival.
