The City of Manila has launched automated services to help its residents and business operators stay safe amid the COVID 19 pandemic while instituting a system that frees government transactions from corruption.
Manila, hailed as the World’s 8th Most Dynamic City, launched its refreshed Go Manila app on July 11, 2020, to provide access to an online one-stop-shop giving a variety of LGU System Automation and e-Services.
“NEW NORMAL: Good news. There’s no need to go to Manila City Hall anymore to pay for real property tax, business tax, cedula, civil documents, and occupational health permits,” announced the Manila Public Information Office social media.
The Go Manila app can provide the following services:
- Real Property Tax (RPTAX)
- Business Tax (BTAX)
- Local Civil Registry
- Community Tax Certificate CTC / CEDULA
- Occupational Permit / Health Certificate
The following government services will be made available next:
- OVR – Ordinance Violation Receipt System
- Manila Social Amelioration Beneficiaries
- Hospital Management and Administration System
- Manila Public Market Management and Administration System
- Manila Jobs Portal
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso encouraged people to use the mobile app for a more convenient experience and keep themselves safe.
“Hindi na po kayo pipila sa napakahabang pila (You don’t have to fall in line in long queues). This app can be accessed 24/7 po. As much as possible, don’t go to City Hall po para mabawasan ang (to reduce the) risk of exposure ng (to) COVID-19,” the city leader said.
“While this app is tailored for the new normal, long-term investment din po ito. Kahit matapos ang COVID-19, pwede pa rin kayo magbayad ng tax nasaan man kayo ( this is also a long-term investment. Even after the COVID-19 crisis, you can still pay taxes anywhere you are),” Domagoso added.
Mayor Domagoso also said that the new technology-based services would help make transactions more transparent and discourage corruption.
“Technology in governance will limit human discretion and naturally eradicate corruption,” said Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso.
The Manila government had earlier set up its online help desk which allowed complaints to be sent directly to city officials using Google-Senti Artificial Intelligence.
Manila also had earlier announced its issuance of online devices for students and teachers to cope with the new system of home learning and teaching.
The One-Stop LGU System Automation & e-Services are available by downloading the Go Manila app for Android users. Desktop and iOS users can go to the City of Manila website for the service.
SEND CHEERS to the Manila community as it enjoys the more convenient Go Manila app automated services that keep people safe while providing an anti-corruption measure.
