The Liter of Light’s award-winning Light it Forward campaign solar kits are now available for purchase on the e-commerce platform of Lazada.
The Asia Pacific Social Innovation and Partnership-awardee and Startup Energy Transition-Awarded Light it Forward video challenge seeks to have people build solar lamps for donation to electricity-deprived communities.
The partnership with Lazada will allow volunteers to purchase solar lighting kits through a special page on the Lazada platform, to assemble and donate to communities across the Philippines that need electricity.
The solar kits have been made available on Lazada in time for its 11.11 Shopping Festival this November.
“Lazada’s mission has always been geared towards nation-building. We aim to accelerate progress through commerce and technology,” says Lazada Philippines CEO Ray Alimurung. “We believe that electricity is an important resource for our community to stay connected during these times. Through Lazada’s partnership with Liter of Light, we hope to enable more Filipinos to have access to this basic need.”
“Our partnership with Lazada will allow us to reach a wider network of potential volunteers,” said Liter of Light Founder Illac Diaz.
“The LIGHT IT FORWARD challenge, which was born as a digital campaign, has found the ideal partner in helping us to fulfill our mission to empower off-grid communities across the country,” added Diaz.
