Co-organizer DLSU-D Broadcast Journalism Program Council (BJPC) Chief Executive LJ Abadinas says the events will be valuable to students.
”Joining and attending these kinds of events are important simply because magandang oportunidad ito para sa atin na ma-nurture pa lalo ‘yung ating journalistic abilities. Ang mga matututunan natin sa COMPACT 2022 mula sa mga beteranong media practitioners ay isang malaking bagay na paniguradong madadala natin paglabas natin sa unibersidad,” LJ Abadinas said.
BJPC and Green FM will deliver live updates on the seminars via Kahel on Facebook Live.
“Kami sa BJPC at Green FM, we are committed to bring live updates sa mga mangyayari sa COMPACT 2022 via Kahel on Live. We’ll air the scheduled seminars for Day 1 and 2 as well as our traditional Fashion Expo. Aside from that, may mga hinanda rin na entertaining at informative shows ang mga Broadcast Journalism students natin na dapat abangan ng lahat!” Abadinas shared.
Communication and Program Council (CPC) Chief Executive Ian Flores shared that COMPACT will expose disinformation in the media and provide solutions.
‘’We are currently facing a threat that is deadly to the media industry, the vast spread of misinformation and disinformation or what we call in this year theme, ‘Infodemic’. As the future of media, we must be aware of this threat and be able to address it or provide solutions. COMPACT exposing us to such matters will be very helpful and meaningful in the future,” Ian Flores said.
COMPACT 2022 events will also be streamed live on the official Facebook page of Compact 2022: Facts Matter.
DLSU-D previously teamed up with UNESCO for its journalism safety-themed COMPACT in 2017.
