Filipina actress and box office queen Kathryn Bernardo has reached a new milestone in her acting career, receiving the Snow Leopard Rising Star Award at the Asian World Film Festival (AWFF) 2024.
Celebrated for her remarkable journey in the entertainment industry, Kathryn Bernardo was recognized for becoming “one of the Philippines’ most bankable and beloved performers.”
The award was presented to the Kapamilya star during the Closing Night Awards Gala on November 21 at the Culver Theater in California. At the event, she humbly thanked the festival and reflected on her 22-year acting journey, sharing her gratitude for the opportunity to represent Filipino talent on the global stage.
“It feels so surreal to be standing here tonight to receive this award. Thank you so much to the Asian World Film Festival’s Board of Directors for this incredible honor, not only for recognizing my body of work but celebrating all the stories that we, Asian artists, continue to share with the world,” the multi-awarded actress shared during the awarding ceremony.
“I started at the age of six. And over the years, I’ve been fortunate to bring a variety of characters to life. Each one teaching me something new, not just as an actor, but as a person. Twenty two years later, I am still here pursuing my first love and my passion which is acting. Yes, I know it’s a tough job. But moments like tonight make it all worth it,” Bernardo added.
Bernardo then expressed her gratitude to everyone who has been part of her journey as an actress.
“It is such an honor to be here, representing my fellow Filipinos and my home network, ABS-CBN. Thank you so much to the AWFF, my family, my mom who’s here, my friends, my mentors, and to everyone who has believed in me throughout this journey,” she said.
“May we all continue to tell stories that will touch people’s lives.”

Hello, Love, Again is now the highest-grossing Filipino movie of all time, surpassing the success of Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards’ first film, Hello, Love, Goodbye, by earning over one billion pesos at the worldwide box office.
