Kapuso actresses Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Vaness Del Moral have taken on the challenge of building solar lights in the LIGHT IT FORWARD campaign.
The solar lamps that the advocates built, go straight to the underprivileged communities in the Philippines who have little or no access to electricity.
Many celebrities have already joined the chain of solar challenges including Jasmine and Vaness from the GMA Network who share the same advocacy of bringing light to people living in darkness.

Jasmine Curtis-Smith
Jasmine co-stars in the Philippine adaptation of the award-winning drama series Descendants of the Sun (DOTS) as Moira Defensor – Rocco Nacino’s love interest.
The 26-year-old Millennial Ambassador for Philippine Indigenous Energy joined LIGHT IT FORWARD and posted the video of the assembly process on her Instagram on July 12, 2020.
In the 4-minute video of the actress, she gave a brief explanation of the campaign and told the viewers of the impact it will bring to the millions of people who have no light source.
“Believe it or not, there are 60 millions of Filipinos who still have no access to electricity so imagine if you can provide a light source to the communities who need it especially in this time,” Curtis said.
Jasmine also crafted her video with detailed information flashed on the screen during the assembly process to guide future solar advocates.
The DOTS star also reminded the viewers that if they encounter any problems, they can directly message (DM) the Liter of Light because they were very helpful.
After finishing the solar lamp, Jasmine encouraged everyone to participate in the solar lighting movement and wished them “Good luck!”

Vaness Del Moral
Vaness is a product of GMA Network’s talent show Starstruck and became famous in playing “kontrabida” or antagonist roles in various drama and later evolved into a comedienne.
The versatile actress uploaded her LIGHT IT FORWARD challenge on August 5, 2020.
The Kapuso star proudly shares her own liter of light kit and started off her video by introducing each part and informed the viewers that she personally built solar lamp will be sent to poor communities without electricity.
During the assembly process, Vaness shows her jolly side by making funny faces and cracking up jokes from time to time allowing the viewers to see how building solar lights can be fun.
“Proud to say that I made it on my own. Thank you @literoflight for the experience. Had a few booboo’s but it was all good. You learn as you go.” Vaness shared.
Upon completion, Vaness challenged her celebrity friends to LIGHT IT FORWARD too: Mark Striegel, Carla Abellana, Rhian Ramos, and Klea Pineda.
