Filipino-American Jo Koy was seen showing off the Philippines’ charms during his guesting on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
The top Hollywood comedian who is known for his witty digs at his parental heritage, specifically his Filipino mother’s Pinoy habits, went on Clarkson’s live show on July 16, 2020, and found a way to bring the country’s travel charms into the chat.
The Netflix star showed Kelly Clarkson some places in the Philippines where he promised to take her when she visits.
Jo Koy started off by saying he will pick up Clarkson at the Manila airport with a Philippine jeepney, the iconic “King of the Road” which is a symbol of Filipino ingenuity.
Jo Koy promised Kelly a jeepney with 19 horns on the trunk, a reference to the vehicle’s trademark accessories.
The Fil-Am comedian then showed off the Lapulapu National Monument and went into a discussion of how the Mactan warrior is actually the first hero in the Philippines’ movement against Spanish colonization. Lapulapu is a key figure in the nation’s 2021 Quincentennial celebrations.
The Pinoy farmers’ market was also featured with Jo Koy offering to cook Chicken Adobo, touted the closest thing to a Pinoy national dish.
Jo Koy wrapped up the showcase by offering to take Kelly Clarkson to some of the Philippines’ most beautiful beaches like Boracay and bragged about finding the deepest darkest blue seas in the archipelago.
