Atomweight mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Gina “Conviction” Iniong controlled the ONE Championship canvas in a winning performance dedicated to her mother who is suffering from Stage 5 kidney disease.
The Team Lakay fighter won her bout in Thailand on February 16, delivering the first defeat of Malaysian phenom, Jihin “Shadow Cat” Radzuan.
In an interview before the fight, Iniong dedicated her bout to her mother who was diagnosed with Stage 5 kidney disease requiring dialysis.
The 29-year-old six-time Philippine Wushu Champion beat the 20-year-old in what is described by ONE Championship as a fight that Iniong “cleverly countered, ended up in top position once more, controlled the action, and took a dominant position in side control.”
Two of the three judges scored in favor of Gina “Conviction” Iniong.
