Gianluca Lanta from the Filipino community in Italy was hailed as Mister Model Worldwide 2019 Ambassador in India.
The Misters of Filipinas Mister Model Worldwide 2019 candidate did not win the pageant crown yet shined among the candidates from all over the world. He was eventually awarded as one of the Mister Model Worldwide 2019 Ambassadors in the coronation night held on December 21 in New Delhi.
The Filipino pageant contender was also hailed 1st runner-up in the national costume competition for showcasing Philippine mythology. Lanta dressed up as “Bathala”, the supreme god who is often described as the Bathalang Maylicha (Bathala the Creator) and as the Bathalang Maycapal (Bathala the Almighty). The costume was created by Patrick Isorena, the same designer who crafted the Moriones-inspired national costume of Miss Intercontinental 2018 Karen Gallman.
Aside from the accolades he received for his national costume, Lanta also bagged special awards such as Mister Personality,
Best Dressed Gentleman, and People Choice Award 1st runner-up.
After the competition, the Pinoy pageant king shared on his social media how grateful he was for his experience in representing the Philippines in the international pageant stage.
“And this is the end of this wonderful journey,” Gianluca said in his post. “It was a great honor for me to carry out the Philippines flag on my shoulders alongside 17 amazing Mens. We all did our best, put a lot of sacrificies and receive more than just a simple trophy, but an intercultural bond. Priceless.”
Lanta also thanked all those who supported his pageant journey.
“I want to thank everyone who supported me during this competition starting from my family who came straight from Italy just to see me living my dream.
“Secondly a big heart to my family and friends from all over the world who made me win the People Choice Award.
“And all of this would not be possible without the staff behind the scene. These trophy are for you guys!!! Thank you so much!”
With his successful stint in India, Gianluca Lanta joins other Filipino male pageant representatives who recently brought pride to the country, namely:
Willy Quinto – a policeman from Valenzuela City – who won the first-ever Mister Working Men International title in Thailand.
Camarines Sur’s Mark Angelo Avila aced the Gentlemen of the World pageant and won the crown in Indonesia.
Martin Domingo Sadiña of Subic, Zambales also made the country proud after his successful campaign in India after he took home the Mister Icon World 2019 title.
