Filipino tennis champion Alexandra “Alex” Eala clinched victory at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) W75 Croissy-Beaubourg Women’s Doubles in France.
Eala, alongside partner Estelle Cascino of France, triumphed over top-seeded duo Jessika Ponchet of France and Maia Lumsden of Great Britain in a thrilling final match on March 30 (March 31 PhST), securing a 7-5, 7-6 (7-4) victory.
Ranked No. 305 in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Doubles Ranking, Eala, and Cascino, ranked No. 146, kicked off their campaign with an impressive comeback win against higher-ranked opponents Celine Naef of Switzerland and Prarthana Thombare of India, prevailing 5-7, 6-2, 10-6.
Their momentum continued as they dominated the quarterfinals with a convincing 6-4, 6-0 win over second-seeded duo Emily Appleton of Great Britain and Isabelle Haverlag of the Netherlands.
In the semifinals, Eala and Cascino secured another straight-set victory, defeating Kira Pavlova of Russia and Marie Weckerle of Luxembourg with a score of 6-3, 6-3.

This victory adds to Eala’s remarkable achievements, following her earlier success in February when she clinched her first-ever professional doubles title alongside Darja Semenistaja of Latvia at the ITF W50 Pune in India.
The 2022 US Open Girls champion turned professional in 2020 just before the onset of the worldwide pandemic. The 18-year-old Eala’s growing pro career has seen her win professional tournaments including her first singles pro title at the W15 Manacor in Spain in 2021, her second pro title at the W25 Chiang Rai in Thailand in 2022, her third at the W25 Yecla in Spain in 2023, and her fourth pro single title from the W25 Roehampton in Great Britain also in 2023.
