Filipino Food Month 2025, or Buwan ng Kalutong Filipino, kicks off this April with a nationwide celebration of the Philippines’ rich culinary heritage. With the theme “Sarap ng Pagkaing Pilipino, Yaman ng Ating Kasaysayan, Kultura, at Pagkatao,” this year’s event highlights the vital role of local agriculture in shaping Filipino cuisine.
Established under Presidential Proclamation No. 469, Filipino Food Month is held every April to promote Filipino dishes, raise awareness of regional specialties, and deepen the public’s appreciation of the country’s diverse food culture.
The official media launch took place on March 21, 2025, at the Manila Prince Hotel in Ermita, gathering major partners from the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Tourism (DOT), National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), and the Philippine Culinary Heritage Movement (PCHM).
“As we celebrate Filipino Food Month, we honor the traditions passed down through generations while also recognizing the creativity of our chefs and home cooks who continue to elevate our food scene,” said NCCA Deputy Executive Director Bernan Joseph Corpuz during the press conference. “This year, we are proud to showcase not only the flavors but also the people behind our dishes—our farmers, fisherfolk, and artisans whose dedication and passion make our food extraordinary.”
The month-long festivities begin with a Nationwide Kick-off Celebration on April 3 at the Quezon Provincial Capitol Grounds, followed by the official opening ceremony on April 7 at the DA Central Office and Mines Elementary School in Quezon City.
Key events include:
-
Hapag ng Pamana sa Iloilo in Iloilo City from April 25–29, spotlighting local culinary traditions.
-
Ang Sarap! Philippine Food Festival at Ayala Malls Manila Bay from April 25–27, leading up to the official closing ceremony.
