At just 15 years old, Fiona Cassandra Vargas is making waves in the music industry once again. Having reached the semifinals of The Voice Kids UK in 2021 at the age of 13, Fiona now hopes for an even more impressive comeback in the 11th edition of The Voice Kids Germany.
Vargas wowed judges with her rendition of Andra Day’s “Rise Up”. Her powerful vocals had all the coaches turning their chairs within seconds, eager to have her on their team as she secured her spot in the next round of 2023 The Voice Kids Germany.
Álvaro Soler was the first judge to turn around and even sang for Fiona in his bid to be her coach. Fiona eventually chose to be on Alvaro’s team.
The judges were blown away by Fiona’s performance, with Lena Meyer-Landrut even going backstage to congratulate her Filipina mother with high-fives. When asked why she joined the show, Fiona said she was there to try again and make her mother proud. The judges responded that she had indeed made her mom proud.
“I’m back again in The Voice Kids in Germany. Stay tuned for my journey begins…so excited to be back and performing again,” Vargas wrote on her social media after the March 31 episode was broadcast.
Fiona, who was born in Ireland, started joining Filipino karaoke parties at the age of three like many other Filipinos who are known worldwide for their amazing singing abilities that winning international competitions like The Voice Kids UK 2020 champion Justine Afante and The Voice Kids Germany’s 2016 champion Lukas Janisch.
Fiona’s performance showcasing her incredible vocals and stage presence brings her to the next round of the competition in the 11th season of The Voice Kids Germany which premiered on March 10, 2023, with coaches Álvaro Soler, Michi and Smudo, Lena Meyer-Landrut, and Wincent Weiss.
