The Philippines’ Auro Chocolate was awarded five gold awards including “Best in Competition” and “Overall Winner” in the International Chocolate Awards (ICA) Asia-Pacific competition held in Pingtung, Taiwan this year.
The Davao-based chocolatier was recognized among the region’s best by the annual international and fully independent competition that recognizes excellence in fine chocolate making.
The premium bean-to-bar company which sources cacao beans from Davao, the Philippines’ official Cacao capital, shared the good news on October 15, 2020.
“Last week, we were honored and shocked to have found out that we had received Gold in the ICA – Asia Pacific this year, even more so after learning we got 5 of them!” the local brand wrote.
Auro Chocolate scored five gold awards in the Asia-Pacific competition of the ICA 2020, namely:
- Overall Winner for Plain/Origin Milk Chocolate Bars
- Best in Competition for Plain/Origin Milk Chocolate Bars
- Gold for Chocolate Maker
- Gold for Growing Country
- Gold for Direct Traded

Auro Chocolate won four World Awards at the 2019 International Chocolate Awards, held in Guatemala. It also took home medals from prestigious global competitions like the Academy of Chocolate Awards in London and the recently concluded Great Taste Awards based in the United Kingdom, among others.
The internationally-awarded Auro Chocolate says the brand is rooted in sustainability through its fair and direct-trade practices, crafting with only the best ingredients to create quality Filipino products. Founded in 2015, the local company delivered a historic first Philippine export to European markets with its shipment to Belgium, the chocolate capital of Europe, and the world.
