Leading fiber internet service provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has once again been crowned the Broadband Telecom Company of the Year – Philippines at the recently concluded Asian Telecom Awards 2023. The recognition marks the company’s second consecutive year of being recognized as the Philippines’ choice of network.
The highly anticipated Asian Telecom Awards ceremony took place at the Conrad Centennial in Singapore. The event marked the return of on-site presentations for the award show, bringing together industry leaders of the telecommunications industry in Asia to recognize and celebrate their achievements.
“We are honored to once again receive this accolade from the Asian Telecom Awards. This recognition is given at a very pivotal moment in our company’s journey towards digital democracy. Right now we are expanding the access of low-income classes to digitalization through prepaid products, and awards such as this motivate us on our mission to bridge the digital divide and make sure that when it comes to world-class connectivity, we will leave no one behind,” said Converge CEO and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony Uy.
The prestigious gathering highlighted the efforts Converge made during its record-breaking run in 2022. Recognized as the Top Rated Fixed Network in the Philippines for the first and second quarters of 2022 by network intelligence and connectivity insights leader Ookla®, the ICT company went on to become the largest fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network in the country after expanding in more areas and regions with its pure fiber footprint now spanning over 646,000 kilometers and 60% nationwide household coverage.
Converge offered free speed updates in the first half of 2022 and doubled the bandwidth once again by the end of the year at no additional cost. The company also introduced tailor-fit connectivity products such as HomeBase for microbusinesses, GameChanger for gaming enthusiasts, and XCLSV for elite high-bandwidth users.
Investment and participation in the trans-pacific Bifrost Cable System and SEA-H2X Submarine Cable System, which will significantly increase connectivity capacity in the Philippines, established the ICT company’s aggressive efforts in providing network diversity in the country. Partnerships with industry titans such as Wilcon Depot, the National Book Store, and Unionbank capped off an impressive banner year for Converge.
“We thank the Asian Telecom Awards for once again recognizing Converge as the top broadband telecommunications company in the Philippines,” stated Converge Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer Jesus C. Romero. “This back-to-back win upholds our company’s unwavering commitment to our goal of connecting everyone in the Philippines with equal quality of services. Digital access is a fundamental right of every Filipino, and we intend to continue working to reach every corner of the country to boost opportunities and growth for all Filipinos and businesses.”
With roots dating back to Asian Mobile News in 2003, the Asia Telecom Award recognizes industry leaders that are at the forefront of innovation and reliability in Asia. The award honors companies that provide their clients with reliable products and services. Converge is no stranger to the award-giving body, having won the titles of Broadband Telecom Company of the Year – Philippines and Marketing & Brand Initiative of the Year – Philippines the previous year.
