Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray graced the cover issue of Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam with a story of her journey of changing the world.
The Harper’s Bazaar feature was released just ahead of the 2019 Miss Universe pageant on December 8 where Gray crowned Miss South Africa as the new Miss Universe ambassador.
Stunning shots of the fourth Filipina Miss Universe were displayed on the fashion and lifestyle magazine’s pages as it highlighted Gray’s in an interview.
Reflecting back on the day that she won as the Miss Universe title, Catriona Gray said that her “life changed forever”. Gray worked throughout the year as an ambassador for Miss Universe that entailed a lot of traveling and learning from different organizations as she fulfilled her mission.
By the end of her reign, Catriona noted the opportunities to go to various schools, encouraging HIV testing for everyone, and advocating for the LGBQT+ community.
When asked by Harper’s Bazaar about her proudest achievement in her life, Catriona Gray answered: “The first is the 4th Miss Universe victory for the Philippines. Then, using the opportunity I was given to help change the world”.
She also added that, since her victory, her charity with the Young Focus in Tondo, Manila had received enough funds for the entire year of 2019.
As another chapter in her life wrapped up, new doors have opened for Catriona Gray to allow her to live up to her ambitions. Her experiences as the 2018 Miss Universe have shaped her to confidently pursue her childhood dream – to become a singer and actor on stage as she has returned to the Philippines to develop a career in music.
Filipinas who have previously graced the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam include Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa, Miss World 2013 Megan Young, and celebrity Anne Curtis.
SEND cheers and congratulations in the comments below to Catriona Gray for a year well spent as an advocate for various missions to help the needy!
