Actor Mon Confiado, who was in the blockbuster TV series “Ang Probinsyano”, is set to star in two international films, the Korean Action-Adventure Film “The Golden Holiday” and Japanese film “DITO” 此処 (Koko).

The seasoned Filipino actor who also starred in internationally-awarded Filipino films Heneral Luna, Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral, Signal Rock, and Ma’Rosa, announced on social media that he will join South Korean Actors, Kwak Do-won (The Wailing, Steel Rain), Kim Sang-ho (Kingdom, Doctor Stranger), and Kim Hee-won (The Merciless, The Man from Nowhere) in the upcoming film, The Golden Holiday.

“It was an honor and privilege to work with these South Korean Actors, Kwak Do-won (The Wailing, Steel Rain), Kim Sang-ho (Kingdom, Doctor Stranger), Kim Hee-won (The Merciless, The Man from Nowhere). 🎬 Watch out for our Action-Adventure Film “THE GOLDEN HOLIDAY” Directed by Kim Bong-han (Ordinary Person) Coming Soon!” Confiado posted on his Facebook and Instagram on March 23, 2020.

Mon Confiado revealed the synopsis of the film:

“THE FIRST FAMILY TRIP TO THE PHILIPPINES TURNS INTO AN INVESTIGATION OF LOCAL MURDER CASE SURROUNDING ‘YAMASHITA’S GOLD’
A laid-back countryside detective Byung-su (KWAK Do-won) takes his family to the Philippines for his 10th wedding anniversary. In fact, his hidden agenda is to track down his old friend Yong-bae (KIM Sang-ho) who scammed him and got away a few years ago. In Manila, Byung-su finds Yong-bae in prison for murder, and hears about the case surrounding ‘Yamashita’s Gold’. Swayed by a share of the Gold that Yong-bae offers, Byung-su suddenly becomes embroiled in the case.”

Confiado also announced on March 26 that he is working on another international film with Japanese actress Momoko Tanabe for “DITO” 此処 (Koko), directed by Takashi Yuki.

The 2018 FAMAS Best Supporting Actor shared photos of him and his South Korean co-actors and Japanese co-actor.

In another post on March 27, he also shared some photos of several episodes on National Geographic’s “BANGED UP ABROAD” (Locked Up Abroad).

More Filipinos are getting into international films, among them, actress Alessandra de Rossi who leads the Filipino cast of the award-winning film “Watch List” directed by American-Indian Ben Rekhi and Mara Lopez who won her first international award as Best Supporting Actress in a foreign language film at the 2020 North Europe International Film Festival (IFF) in London.
