Filipino vocal group Acapellago once again raised the Philippine flag on the
international stage after winning the top prize at the 2019 Vocal Asia Festival in Japan.
The 5-member award-winning Pinoy singing group won two major awards: Asian Cup A Cappella Champion and the VoiceJam Award at the festival’s competitions held at Rexxam Hall (Kagawa Prefectural Hall) in Takamatsu Kagawa on August 9.
The Bulacan-based group composed of Michelle Pascual, Almond Bolante, Joshua Cadeliña, Ronnel Allen Laderas, and Ricky Gavin Laderas bested 7 other participating groups from different Asian countries.
Acapellago’s victory in Japan follows the feat of fellow Filipino vocal groups Astrafellas and ISKALA in Singapore in July. The singing group had previously triumphed in various international a capella competitions such as Moscow Spring A Capella Festival 2019 in Russia, Vokal Total 2017 in Austria, and the AKA VIII A Capella Asia Pacific Championship League in Singapore in 2016.
