The Philippines’ Kings of P-pop, SB19, have achieved another milestone on the global stage. The Pinoy pop supergroup, composed of Josh, Justin, Ken, Pablo, and Stell, proudly took home the Favorite Asian Act award at the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards 2024, further cementing their status as international music icons.
Nickelodeon announced the good news on July 17 in a short online video, saying that SB19 dominated the Favorite Asian Act category.
SB19 bested other nominees K-Pop group ENHYPEN, Japanese girl group NiziU, Indonesian singer Tiara Andini, and Malaysian singer Iman Troye.
In the same video, the Philippines’ five-member boy group thanked their fans for the international recognition.
“Thank you so much for voting us as the Favorite Asian Act at Kid’s Choice Award 2024. It’s such an honor to represent the Philippines. We appreciate all your love and support. Maraming maraming salamat po,” they said.
SB19 also shared the news on their social media and dedicated the award to their fandom A’TIN which is looking to bag their second successive Billboard Fan Army Awards.
“To our A’TIN, this recognition is not just for us—it is yours too. Your support fuels our passion every day. Let’s continue chasing our dreams together, not just for us, but for P-POP and for the country!” they wrote.
SB19 has been putting the Philippines on the map of modern pop music by making waves on the international stage.
Last year, they took a spot on the Top 20 Modern Boy Bands list by MsMojo.
The Pinoy pop sensation also harvested seven accolades at the 35th Awit Awards, making them the most-awarded Filipino music group in 2022.
In 2021, their hit song “Bazinga” dominated the Billboard Trending Songs Chart and took the Top 1 spot for four weeks.
