Google Philippines takes another step forward in empowering local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by launching its Digital Export Enablement Programme (DEEP). This initiative aims to nurture Filipino entrepreneurs, enabling them to harness Google tools to modernize and expand their businesses.
In collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the International Trade Centre (ITC), and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Google Philippines has crafted a program to facilitate a comprehensive entrepreneurial journey, guiding MSMEs through various stages of digital transformation.
During the inaugural two-day workshop, attendees gained insights into leveraging Google’s Business Profile feature and other vital digital export skills. They were exposed to a rich repository of resources from these esteemed organizations, aiming to foster e-commerce proficiency and encourage the exploration of international market landscapes.
“Small businesses form the backbone of our economy, constituting nearly 99% of all business entities. The DEEP initiative reflects our enduring commitment to steer them towards a thriving digital future,” remarked Bernadette Nacario, the Country Director of Google Philippines.
Echoing this sentiment, DTI Assistant Secretary Jean Pacheco highlighted the role of DEEP in enhancing awareness about the myriad of free digital tools at MSMEs’ disposal.
Underlining Google’s sustained efforts to build a Digital Philippines, the DEEP initiative joins the ranks of successful endeavors such as the MSME Caravan which, in collaboration with DTI, equipped over 100,000 MSME personnel with digital skills last year.
