Filipino entrepreneurs are getting help to upgrade their businesses with the help of the Department of Science and Technology-National Capital Region Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (DOST-NCR SETUP) e-Caravan which kicked off the first week of October 2021.
The Metro Manila leg of the DOST nationwide program was launched on October 5 and will run until December 3 with virtual and face-to-face SETUP-related activities via different multimedia platforms, tri-meetups, and blended science and technology roadshows.
Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from Metro Manila will be benefiting from the SETUP Upgrading Program that provides access to appropriate technologies and best practices to help entrepreneurs raise the level of productivity and competitiveness of their businesses.
SETUP features include:
- providing access to innovative technologies
- free technical advisory for MSMEs to increase their sales and production output
- advice to streamline and improve overall company operations
- assistance to upgrade the quality of products and services
- help the business conform to national and international regulatory and market standards
- help widen market reach
During the event, the participants will learn how to upgrade their businesses without having to spend a lot and discover and even speak to some known personalities who have been assisted by the DOST-NCR through SETUP.
DOST Secretary Fortunato de la Peña said the agency aims to produce SMARTER – Socially responsive, Market-oriented, Agile, Resource-efficient, Technology intensive, Environment friendly, and Resilient MSMEs.
“I hope that the learnings from this event will empower each MSME with technology-based solutions that will surely raise business standards, stimulate operations, improve product qualities and help each enterprise to rebuild and regain their losses due to the pandemic,” Secretary de la Peña said during the event launch.
