Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray has started hosting a web series dedicated to Philippine Arts and culture titled, “Kultura 101”.
The 5-part digital series produced by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) premiered on February 20, 2021, as part of the country’s Arts Month celebration.
In a teaser video posted on her social media, Catriona expressed her excitement with the vlog-type online show as a way of rediscovering and reconnecting to her own Filipino roots.
“It has to do with my love of Philippine culture and arts. It really was a journey of discovery for me and little by little, I fell in love with different arts, crafts, food, music, and textile,” the fourth Filipina Miss Universe titleholder said.
“To learn about the history of our people, to learning their stories, built my love as a Filipino but for the Filipino people,” the culture advocate and humanitarian aid worker added.
For the Kultura 101 first episode “Parikitan” aired on NCCA and Catriona Gray’s Facebook pages, the 27-year-old Arts Ambassador first tackled the pre-colonial and indigenous jewelry and accessories, and tattoos.
