Bacolod’s Clairevee Aya Gamboa has made history as the first Filipina recipient of Qatar’s Woman Leader 2020 award in Qatar, Middle East.
The Filipina consultant was recognized for her significant contributions in the business and hospitality sectors in the Middle East by the World Women Leadership Award Congress and World Marketing Congress in a virtual ceremony on November 3, 2020.
Gamboa, the CEO of Forma International, a business consultancy firm, won the award besting other nominees across several geographic regions globally as part of the celebration of “Women Leaders” who are producing leaders change and nurture gender diversity.
The business leader was also acknowledged for her contributions to Qatar’s national security during its time of challenges through contract acquisition and research and development.
The 37-year-old Pinay awardee founded her business in Qatar which eventually expanded across Canada, Japan, Turkey, and the Philippines.
The Filipina leader received the prestigious recognition while in her hometown in Bacolod. With much joy, Gamboa thanked the award-giving bodies and dedicated the award to her company, to entrepreneurs around the world, and to all women who aspire for excellence in business.
“Thank you… for giving me this award as “Qatar’s Woman Leader 2020″ and in recognizing my contributions for the country’s economic diversity by advancing a world-class hospitality, brand creations, business development and also for acknowledging my contributions to the State’s national security during its time of challenges,” wrote Clairevee Gamboa in a Facebook post.
As Qatar’s Woman Leader of the year and the first Pinay consultant to be recognized in the Middle East, Gamboa said:
“This award is not only for me but also goes to every Filipino men and women around the world who see opportunities amidst unforeseen adversities. Let us lead, rise and celebrate this success together.”
During her unexpected prolonged stay in Bacolod due to the COVID-19 travel lockdown, the Pinay leader made time to give back to her community by donating face masks to frontliners and grocery items to depressed areas in Bacolod.
Outstanding Filipinas around the world continue to champion Pinoy excellence including Mindanao’s Felicitas Pantoja who owns the prestigious “Nobel Prize for Business” in Oslo and Overseas Filipino Worker advocate Susan Ople who was appointed to the United Nations Board of Trustees.
