Filipino celebrities have banded together to seek donations for the victims of Super Typhoon ‘Rolly’ with Catriona Gray and Angel Locsin in the lead.
As the world’s strongest typhoon in 2020 hit the Philippines on November 1, humanitarian calls are emerging like Robert Alejandro’s digital caricatures for a cause.
Eight Filipino celebrities have added their influence to calls to help the typhoon victims. The local celebrities, who have been actively joining philanthropic initiatives during the ongoing pandemic, took to social media to urge everyone to lend cash or in-kind products to be delivered to typhoon-stricken areas in the country such as Catanduanes and Albay.
Here are the Filipino celebrities and their Typhoon Rolly assistance initiative:
Angel Locsin
Gen T List honoree, Angel Locsin, posted regarding their cash assistance worth Php1,000 for the 1st 1,000 valid requests to be sent through Gcash from November 2-3, 2020.
“Sa aming maliit na paraan, nais po naming makapag-abot tulong sa mga kababayan nating nasalanta ng bagyong Rolly thru Gcash. Though we would like to reach out to everyone who are in need, our resources are limited and can only accommodate the first 1,000 valid requests,” captioned “Iba Yan’s” host.

Catriona Gray
Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, who traces her roots to Bicol, calls “kind-hearted” donors to donate Php100 to Philippine Red Cross (PRC) in order to continue its plight to serve the affected communities and to also donate to Love Yourself Philippines, another organization she supports.

Gary Valenciano
