Various organizations have been championing Filipino culture and traditions by infusing it to modern technology and pop culture.
The National Commission for Culture and the Arts has produced its very first TV drama entitled “Project Destination” that showcases the culture and family values of the Kalinga tribe in Northern Luzon.
GMA Network also produced TV shows “Amaya” about the “binukot” princess in the pre-Hispanic Visayas, and “Sahaya” that highlights the life and plight of the Sama Dilaut tribe in Mindanao.
The world’s largest online search engine Google also made efforts in preserving the original Pinoy Baybayin script, together with other ancient Filipino forms of writing such as Buhid, Hanunuo, and Tagbanwa, through the Google Gboard for smartphones.
In June, Philippine Embassy in Spain introduced the Baybayin via a webinar titled “Kwentuhang Baybayin: Pagmumuni-muni at mga aral” for the Filipinos living in the Iberian peninsula.
