Acapellago, the award-winning Filipino pop a cappella group, is starring in the 45th International Bamboo Organ Festival in Las Pinas.
The internationally renowned Filipino singing group will be headlining the festival event “Night of my favorites” on February 22, 2020.
Acapellago is composed of 5 members: Michelle Pascual (Soprano), Almond Bolante (Counter Tenor), Joshua Cadelina (Tenor), Avin Laderas (Bass), Ron Laderas (Beatbox).
The a capella singing group holds multiple championship titles in various competitions across Asia and Europe, including, two major awards in Japan: the Asian Cup A Cappella Championship and the VoiceJam Award in Takamatsu Kagawa in August 2019.
Also in 2019, Acapellago won first prize at the Moscow Spring A Capella FestivalMoscow Spring A Capella Festival held in May.
The group is a 3-time Ani ng Dangal Awardee for Music and a recipient of the Awit Awards for Best Arrangement.
The 2020 International Bamboo Organ Festival will run from February 20-26, 2020 at the Parish of Saint Joseph Bamboo Organ Church in Las Piñas City. It will feature international music artists and showcase the world-famous Las Piñas bamboo organ, the oldest – and until 2019 the only – working musical instrument of its kind in the Philippines.
The International Bamboo Organ FestivalInternational Bamboo Organ Festival was started by the locals of Las Piñas in 1975 in anticipation of the organ’s return after its rehabilitation.
In 2019, the City of Las Piñas celebrated the 195th year of its famed Bamboo Organ – the oldest, largest, and only known bamboo pipe organ in existence.
