South Korean Visa processing for Filipinos has just been reduced to 10-15 days from the usual 25-27 days.
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines announced the shortened and faster processing period of Korean visa applications with its move to add embassy staff in Manila.
The reduced visa processing time will take effect by the end of February, 2020.
The Korean embassy posted the announcement on January 20 on their website, adding, “for those who plan to visit Korea by March~April, please be informed that the reduced processing period will be retained during the peak season (March~April).”
The Ministry of Justice was earlier reported to have announced on December 12 that a planned South Korea government program “Plan for Promoting Foreign Tours” will allow tourist groups to enter airports in inland areas, such as Seoul, Incheon, and Busan, for up to 5 days without a visa, as long as their final destination is Jeju Island. The planned New Visa-Free Program will cover the Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
The Jeju area visitors visa-free program is one of the three ways to enter South Korea that was announced by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in November. Visa-free entry can also be gained by tourists in transit to third countries or by foreign transfer passengers.
Philippine passport holders can enjoy Visa-Free travel to 67 countries in 2020, with Taiwan extending its free entry until July this year.
Filipino travelers with U.S. Visa can also gain easier access to Argentina while Japan relaxed visa requirements.
