Nine Philippine islands have been picked in Asia’s Top 50 Beaches recommended by Canada’s leading online travel agency, Flight Network.

El Nido in Palawan was ranked number 1 by the world’s top travel professionals in the Canadian firm’s globally-recognized list which showcases “a collection of off-the-beaten-path slices of paradise from every corner of our planet.”

Palawan along with Siargao, which topped the Condé Nast Traveler (CNT) magazine’s Best Islands in the World Readers’ Choice Awards, both made it to the Top Beaches list for Asia.

Flight Network’s Top 50 Asian Beaches list ranked the following Philippine islands among “the most spectacular beaches on earth”:

Hidden Beach El Nido in Palawan (#1)

Hidden Beach in El Nido – also voted one of the CNT Best Resorts of the World – topped the Flight Network Asian beaches recommendations for “tropical, white sand, postcard-perfect beach from the rest by one magnificent trait — those unmistakable, protruding limestone cliffs. Shooting out of the turquoise-blue lagoon straight to the sky, they draw your eyes away from the magnificent reefs and palm-lined shores… all those who visit enjoy breathtaking views and world-class diving by day and luxurious resorts by night.”

Guyam White Sand Beach in Siargao (#13)

The Canada-based online travel agency picked Siargao – Condé Nast Traveler Editors Choice as 2019 travel destination – as the 13th ranked Asian beach.

“Guyam White Sand Beach is a place you have to see to believe… this tropical island with glittering white sand, towering palm trees, and pristine water is a dream come true for any beach lover.”

Flight Network recommends the Siargao beach for island hopping, swimming, snorkeling, and leisurely walk around the island.

Palaui Beach in Cagayan Valley (#22)

Palaui Beach in Cagayan Valley takes the 22nd spot in the Asia’s best list, and cited for being featured on the hot reality show, Survivor.

“… often described as raw, fresh and clean — renowned for its pure, unfiltered beauty. In fact, it’s so secluded and untouched, it was featured on the show ‘Survivor’. Today, the island beach is getting more attention, but it is still considered remote and pristine. All who are lucky enough to visit get to experience the fine, powdery sand and contrasting periwinkle skies and turquoise waters almost all to themselves.”

Caramoan Island Beach in Camarines Sur (#29)

Caramoan Island Beach in Camarines Sur is at 29th place, also a site for the Survivor show.

“White sand is backed by limestone cliffs on one side, and the turquoise sea is dotted with islets and islands. Because Caramoan Island Beach is so secluded, it still exudes its natural beauty. And even though this beach was featured on the hit television show Survivor, its lagoons, caves, rocks, and fine sands remain un-visited by most everyday tourists.”

Dahican Beach in Mati, Davao Oriental (#41)

Dahican Beach in Mati, Davao Oriental at 41st.

“Long stretches of sugary sand define Dahican Beach, one of the crown jewels of the Philippine coastline. While the beach can get crowded during the busy season, the shoulder and off seasons can be enjoyed with just a few fellow travelers on the sand. The soft sand and often gentle waters are ideal for sunbathing, swimming, or trying your hand at surfing with a local surf coach. On days with bigger waves, experienced surfers can join the locals in the water for an unforgettable surf session.”

Gumasa Beach in Sarangani (#45)

Gumasa Beach in Sarangani is one of those “places where the photos don’t lie. This hidden gem of Mindanao offers powdery sand, water so clear you can see the bottom, and the chance to enjoy the beach with only a handful of people at most. Affordable yet cozy accommodation options make this the perfect place to unplug and unwind.”

Alona Beach in Panglao, Bohol (#46)

Alona Beach in Panglao, Bohol – site of Nat Geo’s choice for Most Wild and Beautiful Places, the world-famous Chocolate Hills – is at 46th place.

“This small stretch of tropical paradise has become one of the most popular tourist spots in Panglao Bohol Island. This 1.5 km strip of soft white sand and lush palm trees is sandwiched between two towering rock walls. Lay down on the beach for a nap or get a glimpse of some of the rich underwater life that makes this diving spot one of the best in the world. After a day in the sun, check out the local nightlife or indulge in some of the great food in the neighbourhood, featuring both local and international cuisines.”

Kalanggaman Island in Leyte (#49)

Kalanggaman Island in Leyte – one of Travel & Leisure’s 15 Best Islands – is at 49th spot.

“… you will be rewarded with crystal clear water, powdery white sands and lush palm trees. This small island paradise has magnificent sandbars on both ends of the island and sometimes, not a soul in sight. There’s no electricity and not many places to buy food, but this just adds to the peaceful serenity of the island. It’s widely considered one of the best beaches in the Philippines by tourists and locals alike because of its pristine splendor. Relax on the sand or do some exploring. The clear waters make this a perfect snorkeling spot.”

Paliton Beach in Siquijor (#50)

Paliton Beach in Siquijor invites travelers to a “150-meter stretch of tall palm trees and fine white sand and take in the untouched charm … Watch the local fishermen pull in their fishing boats. The vivid colourful boats amid the clear, azure water is a photographer’s dream. Now just wait until dusk. Paliton Beach is known for its breathtaking sunset views. You can also find some local food vendors hanging around on weekends when the beach is a little busier with locals.”
