The first All-Filipino online bookfair “AKLATAN” is going live mid-August for book lovers!
The Book Development Association of the Philippines (BDAP) is organizing the online event from August 16-18, 2020, to encourage Pinoy readers to support local writers and publishers.
“Watch out for the first-ever, All-Filipino online bookfair, AKLATAN on Shopee from August 16-18, 2020,” BDAP said on its Facebook post.
The bookfair will be held online via the virtual marketplace, Shopee, as face-to-face mass gatherings are prohibited under the re-imposed Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) to minimize the spread of the coronavirus disease and to help save the medical community from exhaustion due to the pandemic.
The first-ever online bookfair comes in time just before the opening of classes on August 24 as announced by the Department of Education (DepEd).
Buyers can enjoy book hunting and purchasing without leaving the comfort of their homes and without risk of contracting the virus.
