Mister Philippines Martin Domingo Sadiña of Subic, Zambales raised the country’s flag in India after his successful campaign to take home the Mister Icon World 2019 title.
The Filipino pageant representative bested other male candidates from all over the world and emerged as the pageant’s top winner on November 26 in Mumbai.
The 21-year-old Kolehiyo ng Subic student showcased the Filipino people’s strong faith in God and devotion to Virgin Mary in his religiously-inspired national costume designed by James O’Briant.
The Business Administration student aced the question and answer portion of the competition, answering the question: “Why Should you be the next Mister Icon World?”
Sadiña answered: “Being an Icon to the world, does not mean that you only look good, being smart, and have a great physique.
“What the world needs is a person with a good heart willing to help the poor and the oppressed. We need to be the catalyst for change.
“I believe that if I can’t be the light, just let me be the spark.
“Just like what Mother Theresa said ‘if you can’t feed a hundred people, feed only one’ and that’s the beginning of one’s love to Humanity.’ ”
