Global fashion brand Charles & Keith are collaborating with Woven Philippines in a new collection of handwoven bags made by women artisans from Basey, Samar.
The Charles & Keith and Woven special capsule collection was introduced to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8, and “aims to eradicate and reduce gender discrimination, inequality, and violence.”
The collaboration project exhibits the talents of Filipina weavers around the world to support their work and maintain their weaving tradition. Charles & Keith will donate 20% percent of the net sales of the accessory line to the women artisans.
Woven, the Philippine-based social enterprise, created fashion accessories inspired by the “Empowering Women of Tomorrow” theme.
The Woven products are made by are composed of a tote bag, a circle top handle bag, a clutch and a pouch made using banig – dried grass and dyed palm leaves.
