Wildflower actor Joseph Marco has joined the second season of the HBO Asia series, The Bridge, marking his first international acting project.
Marco announced his inclusion in the cast of The Bridge during his first day of filming in Kuala Lumpur on December 2.
HBO Asia’s The Bridge, produced by Endemol Shine, is a remake of a Swedish drama series topbilled by actors from Malaysia and Singapore.
The Filipino actor wrote on his Instagram: “Where did life take me today? It’s my first day of shooting here in Kuala Lumpur.
“Feels very surreal doing my first ever acting stint abroad! It’s such an overwhelming experience to be able to work with international production and I really am grateful for it!
“So thrilled to announce that I’ll be part of the second season of #TheBridge.”
Prior to his international stint in Malaysia, the 31-year-old Pinoy starred in ABS-CBN’s soap operas such as “Los Bastardos” with Jake Cuenca and Kylie Padilla and “Wild Flower” with Maja Salvador who won Best Actress at the Busan International Film Festival.
More and more Filipino actors have been featured in various foreign TV series, among them, Ejay Falcon and Lauren Young in Korean hit drama “Where Stars Land (Fox Bride Star)”.
Miss Universe 1969 winner and seasoned actress Gloria Diaz was featured in the second season of Netflix’s Insatiable.
Meanwhile, Kapuso star Bianca Umali is set to play the lead role in the third season of HBO Asia Original series Halfworlds.
