VPeepz once again made dance history as it competed for the first time at the 2019 Body Rock Junior in California – marking the first time an all-Filipino junior dance mega crew is in the competition.
VPeepz wowed the audience of the competition with their sharp, fast, and clean dance moves with crazy musicality as it performed a “Legends of the Hidden Temple” inspired piece – bringing back memories of childhood for all 90s kids (and kids at heart).
The junior dance mega crew finished with an average score of 94.6, placing it in the 4th spot among 15 junior dance crews from all over the globe during the annual junior competition of Body Rock held June 30 at the Escondido Center of the Arts.
VPeepz’ strong finish adds to the Philippines’ pride as its sister crew, UPeepz, competed in the main event. VPeepz won the First runner up spot at the 2019 Body Rock Dance Competition.
This is also the first time for the Philippines to be represented in both junior and main dance events of Body Rock. Both VPeepz and UPeepz were founded and directed by Chips Beltran.
The judges for the prestigious urban based-dance competition, widely regarded as the “Superbowl of the Dance Community,” include Carlo Darang, Karen Chuang, Kevin Nguyen, Maharlika Peetoom, and Haeni Kim.
VPeepz was recently crowned as the 2019 NBC World of Dance Season 3 Junior Team Division Champions.
Other awards received by VPeepz include:
- 2019 Philippine Hip Hop Dance Championship Bronze Medalist
- 2018 World Hip Hop Dance Championship Finalist (USA)
- 2018 Hip Hop International Philippines National Champions
- 2017-2018 back-to-back Hip Hop International Philippines Regional Champions
Since 2015, VPeepz has been promoting urban choreography and street culture to be accepted as a form of art and profession for young dancers.
