Policeman Willy Quinto from Valenzuela City successfully raised the Philippine flag in Thailand after winning the first-ever Mister Working Men International 2019 title.
Mister Philippines bested 14 other final candidates from all over the world to bag the Mister Working Men International crown in its inaugural pageant held at Central Plaza Chaengwattana Hall in Bangkok from October 14 to 21.
Days prior to the international tilt, Willy Quinto met an accident yet he managed to recover and represent the Philippines.
“Para sa Pilipinas, I will do my best, everything has been prepared already. Thank you to everyone who helped me build my confidence and who wished me well on my recovery,” Quinto said in an interview before he left for Bangkok.
During the coronation night on October 21, Quinto showcased the culture of the Cordilleran people in his Igorot-inspired national costume designed by Dave Ocampo and Edwin Uy.
The Pinoy male pageant veteran, who was also awarded as the Ambassador of Young Thai Organization, proudly paraded his Philippine National Police uniform.
In the question and answer segment, Willy Quinto shared the most important aspect about his job – to help people in need and the children as the country’s future.
“I love helping others because when you are helping them, they will appreciate you. Someday, they will come back and will also help you,” the 26-year old police corporal said in his answer.
