Urban Crew earned praises, standing ovations, and rounds of applause for the Philippine dance group’s circus-like act in America’s Got Talent (AGT) semi-finals.
The “Flyers of the South” were clothed in the colors of the Philippine flag as they showcased their acrobatic and death-defying performance on the AGT stage in the show which aired Tuesday night, September 6, 2022 (U.S Time).
In their introduction video, the team shared that they traveled all the way from Manila to be on the AGT stage for a chance to show America their great group.
They added they hope America can see how good they are in the AGT semi-finals and help them get into the finals.
The Filipino dancers included hula hoops in their routine to the rendition of Pitbull’s ‘Celebrate’.
After their performance, the Filipino troupe received standing ovations from judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel. A confetti-covered Sofia Vergara clapped all throughout, together with the cheering and applauding live audience and host Terry Crews.
“I’m so happy for this act. This made me feel amazing. I can see how much preparation went into it, the discipline, the timing, how much you want this for yourselves. That’s what I call a 10,” Judge Simon Cowell poured adoration for the Filipino contestants.
The team shared that the act was a matter of trust among each and every member which they believe can bring them to a higher level.
Judge Howie Mandel agreed with this anecdote saying, “That’s how we judge, it’s a matter of trust and each of these people bring me to the highest level.” Mandel concluded his comment by referring to the act as the most exciting and most entertaining of the night.
“You are a jolt of adrenaline, fun, joy, everything. Also, my favorite act of the night so far,” Heidi Klum added.
“You went all out tonight, the energy, the danger, synchronisization (synchronization). It was perfect!” a giddy Sofia Vergara finished.
