The UP Alliance of Concerned Dormitories (UP ACD) Alumni Legacy Project advances its mission of empowering communities through free online webinars focused on health education, skills development, and community service. Following its successful launch in November 2024 with a Stroke Awareness Talk by Dr. Jennifer Manzano, the project now presents its next session on Hypertension Awareness, featuring Dr. Deborah David Ona on February 23, 2025, from 8:00 to 9:30 PM.
The webinar series was initiated to honor the legacy of Brix Suelto, a respected UP ACD alumnus who dedicated his life to serving the people and was an organ donor at his passing in October 2024. The project embodies his spirit by inviting UP ACD alumni now leaders in various fields to share valuable knowledge with the community. As stated in the ACD Legacy Project rationale, the initiative seeks to “continue his legacy of love for the Philippines and Filipinos worldwide.”

Quick Action on Stroke
The first session in November 2024 was titled “A Lifesaving Guide to Stroke Awareness with Dr. Jennifer Manzano,” focused on stroke awareness, highlighting early warning signs and preventive measures. Dr. Manzano emphasized the urgency of quick action when there are symptoms of a stroke. She shared the acronym B.E.F.A.S.T. which is used internationally to remind people of the symptoms of a stroke and what to do when the signs are observed.
Here is the B.E.F.A.S.T card you can download and share with your family and friends:
Dr. Jennifer Manzano is a highly experienced adult neurologist specializing in stroke management and comprehensive neurologic care. She has extensive expertise in treating epilepsy, peripheral nerve diseases, muscle disorders, dementia, cognitive impairments, and movement disorders.
