Two Filipino photographers, Gian Cruz and Geloy Concepcion, have been given the 2016 Pride Photo Awards.
Cruz was awarded the second prize in the Open category for his “You as me” black and white portraits of men and women in suits.
Concepcion received a Special Mention for his colorful portraits of elderly gays in the “Reynas Delas Flores: Manila’s Golden Gays.”
Cruz was a finalist in the PhotoPhore International Contemporary Photo Award in 2016.
Concepcion is a professional photographer, videographer and street artist whose works have been exhibited in Japan, Singapore, India, Australia and Philippines.
Cruz and Concepcion competed against 396 other photographers from 70 countries who submitted 3,600 entries in the 2016 Pride Photo Awards.
The Pride Photo Awards is an annual international contest for photos about sexual and gender diversity.
The winning photos will be on exhibit from September 10-October 16 in Amsterdam.
