Amidst fierce competition from 17 countries and 1275 participants, the Philippine team radiated brilliance and demonstrated exceptional mathematical prowess in the global arena.
This remarkable performance was steered by the Asian MathSci League, Inc. (AMSLI), whose Grades 1-12 delegation outperformed their international counterparts in the WMI Finals held from July 14 to 18 at Yonsei University. The triumphant tally included 1 Star of the World Award, 2 Legend Awards, 4 Diamond Awards, 14 Gold Awards, 32 Silver Awards, 48 Bronze Awards, 41 Merit Awards, and a unique Silver Award in WMI’s special video creation mini-competition.

Two other bright sparks, Andrew Lorenz Cabigon from Sacred Heart School – Ateneo De Cebu and Dean Alistair Yu from Makati Hope Christian School, scooped up the Legend Awards, a testament to their consistent excellence as evidenced by their gold or diamond finishes for three consecutive years.
Makati Hope Christian School’s Chynna Lorin Co creatively combined math with sports, winning a Silver Award in the Mini Math Creative Competition (MMCC) with her instructive video about perfecting basketball shots through mathematical calculations.
