Tridadvisor’s readers voted Luzon Island in the Philippines as the World’s Top 2 Trending Destination in the 2020 Travellers’ Choice Awards.
Luzon was ranked in 2nd place, just after Kochi in India, in the Top 25 Trending Destinations in the World list released on February 25, 2020. Cebu Island in the Visayas was also in the popular travel site’s list at 24th spot.
Tripadvisor described the Philippines’ largest island: “Travelers are flocking to the island of Luzon, the largest island in the Philippines, to experience one of the more unique locations in the world.
“Yes, this is where the dynamic capital city of Manila is located, but more than that it’s home to some of the most exquisite natural landscapes and biodiversity on the planet — from vast mountains and dense rainforests to endless beaches and coral reefs.”
Tridadvisor traveller reviews in 2019 were the basis for the rankings.
“Believe the hype — these incredible spots (that travellers love) saw the biggest spikes in top reviews and ratings last year,” went the introduction to the “Best of the Best” Top Trending list.
Tripadvisor listed the National Museum in Manila, Fort Santiago in the Walled City of Intramuros, also in Manila, and Mt. Pulag National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Center, as the places tourists and travellers’ would not want to miss.
In its Top Things To Do in LuzonTop Things To Do in Luzon, Tripadvisor listed 28 popular cities to visit in the country’s northern island.
In 2019, Cebu Island and Panay Island both in the Visayas were ranked among the Best Travel Destinations in Asia by the Tripadvisor Traveler’s Choice Awards.
