Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) governor Amando Tetangco Jr. has once again been named as one of the World's Best Central Bankers by international finance magazine Global Finance.
Tetangco first received the same recognition in 2006. This year’s award is his 8th from the publication.
The BSP chief received an “A” grade from the Global Finance magazine's Central Banker Report Cards 2016, one of only 8 issued this year.
"As these scores demonstrate, some central bankers are more constrained by circumstance than others, while some have shown remarkable agility in driving policy," Global Finance publisher and editorial director Joseph Giarraputo said in a media statement.
About 75 country central bank governors and the European Union are graded by the Central Banker Report Cards.
The grades given are from the A to F scale for success in areas such as economic growth goals, currency stability, inflation control and interest rate management.
