Team Philippines has once again proven its exceptional talent in the performing arts by bringing home 269 medals and awards, including two Grand Championships, from the 2024 World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA). This achievement continues the winning streak of Filipinos at the annual Talent Olympics, showcasing their skills in singing, dancing, and various performing arts.
In previous years, Team Philippines WCOPA, was named the 2023 Overall Grand Champion, earned 266 honors in 2022, a best-ever medal and honors haul of 390 in 2019, and 286 recognitions in 2018.
At this year’s 27th WCOPA, Team Philippines proudly secured the following honors:
- Senior Grand Champion Dance Group of the World – Bailes De Luces
- Junior Grand Champion Female Model of the World – Andee De Silva
- Extraordinary National Director – Gerry Mercado
- 95 Gold medals
- 38 Silver medals
- 30 Bronze medals
- 19 Finalist Medals
- 33 Semifinalist Medals
- 44 Division Winner Plaques
- 1 New York Film Academy Scholarship
- 5 New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts Scholarships
- 1 Jeff Webber Scholarship
Sixty-seven talented Filipinos from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao represented the country, competing against teams from 62 countries in various categories of performing arts, including singing, dancing, instrumental performance, acting, and modeling. The competition took place from June 28 to July 7 in Long Beach, California.
