Taiwanese tech group to hire 16,000 more Filipinos

New Kinpo Group, a leading global electronic manufacturing services and original design manufacturing company is expanding its operations in the Philippines.

The Taiwanese electronics manufacturing firm said its expansion in the country will create 16,000 more jobs this year.

New Kinpo Group, whose clients include Casio and Toshiba, currently employs 10,000 people in its 4 factories in the Philippines, said its CEO, Simon Shen.

Shen said the company saw “the manufacturing potential of the Philippines as the conditions are ideal for electronic manufacturing services (EMS) companies.”

The Philippines encountered competition from Indonesia, Vietnam and India, when the Taiwan firm was looking for a facility in in Asia but it decided on the Philippines because its reasonable and has a stable labor cost compared with all Asian countries, Shen said.
