Kapamilya actress Yam Concepcion and her non-showbiz boyfriend Miguel CuUnjieng have teamed up to join the LIGHT IT FORWARD challenge of building solar lights for the poor.
The long-time sweethearts responded to the call of Liter of Light to be solar challengers for a cause and embolden the millions of Filipinos who lack a basic necessity – electricity.
From the start of the campaign, well-known TV personalities have become solar advocates who lend their voices to champion the solar lighting movement.
In a span of 20-30 minutes, using the solar kits shipped by Liter of Light, anyone can build a solar lamp and become part of a noble campaign.

Yam is a popular actress best known for her role in ABS-CBN’s drama series “Halik” and “Love thy Woman” while her boyfriend Miguel is a business consultant based in the United States who also advocates environmental issues.
The two recorded their assembly process in a semi- time-lapse motion and uploaded the video on August 7, 2020.
During the process, Miguel explains that if he had not gotten in the field of business, he would be in the environment field for sure.
The couple tackled the importance of environmental awareness as Miguel looked back on his experiences in various environmental groups he has joined.
In a few minutes, the couple showed how easy the assembly process is after they successfully lit the solar lamps.
“Sometimes complex problems can have simple solutions. The sustainable solar lamps from Liter of Light can potentially provide assistance to the millions of Filipinos without access to electricity, and they are easy and fun to assemble!” Yam captions their video.
After the triumphant lighting, the couple thanked the Executive Director of Liter of Light – Illac Diaz for his project.
“We are sending a big thank you and congratulations to @illacdiaz for a decade of dedication to addressing this important issue, and furthering important work on mitigation and adaptation technology in the face of climate change!” said the Kapamilya actress.
