The Philippines Statistics Authority (PSA) has just launched the online registration for the Philippine National Identification (PhilID) for Filipino citizens and resident aliens.
The PhilID has lifetime validity for Filipino citizens while resident aliens’ card expires after one year. The national ID can be used as official proof of identity for loan applications, opening bank accounts, acquiring scholarships, and other transactions.
The PhilID is free but replacement due to damage or loss will be charged a fee.
The physical ID bears a Philippine System Card Number (PCN) that can be used even without the card itself.
Following are the 3 simple steps to acquire a Philippine national Identification card.
Step 1:
Register online through the Philippine Identification System website: https://register.philsys.gov.ph/
An applicant needs to register the following information:
- Full name
- Sex
- Date and place of birth
- Blood type
- Address
Other information such as marital status, mobile number, and email address may or may not be given.
After providing the demographic information, the applicant is asked to set an appointment in the nearest physical registration center.
Step 2:
Register biometric information including fingerprint, iris scan, and photograph at the physical registration center.
Bring the required supporting documents for on-site validation. For the list of supporting documents go here: https://psa.gov.ph/philsys/faqs
Bring the transaction number issued after completion of the online registration.
Step 3:
Issuance of the Philippine System Card Number (PCN) and PhilID card. The PhilID will be delivered by PHLPost to the applicant’s residence.
PSA reminds everyone not to post their PhilID on social media to protect their private information.
