Sinigang and Chicken Inasal Top TasteAtlas’ 100 Best Filipino Foods

TasteAtlas has revealed its Top 100 Filipino Foods, with Sinigang (sour soup) and Inasal na Manok (chargrilled chicken) sharing the top spot. These dishes received a 4.5-star rating from the food encyclopedia’s global audience.

Sinigang, a flavorful sour soup made with tamarind, vegetables, and a choice of meats, and Inasal na Manok, a chargrilled chicken specialty from Bacolod, both stood out in the list released on September 16, 2024. Sinigang had also made it to the 2023 World’s Best 100 Foods, while Inasal na Manok was previously ranked in the 2022 World’s Top 100.

Lechon, the iconic slow-roasted suckling pig served at Filipino celebrations named in the 50 Best-Rated Pork Dishes, follows closely with a 4.4-star rating. Leche Flan, a Top 50 Global Dessert, also scored 4.4 stars and had previously ranked as the World’s 3rd Best Custard.

TasteAtlas announced the rankings on social media, sparking lively debates among food lovers. The platform, known for showcasing traditional dishes and authentic restaurants, allows food enthusiasts to explore local cuisines worldwide.
